			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Ok here we,  or I rather go again gathering motivation to loose weight. I&#8217;m back at 165.6 lbs and feeling every one of the extra pounds.  So here I go&#8230;</p>
<p>I&#8217;ll be journaling daily to keep my head in the game. A game is essentially what it is. Today I&#8217;ll be out of the house most of the day,  so I&#8217;ll pick up some apples, slice them up and put them into baggies for snacks. Hmmm&#8230; sadly that&#8217;s all of the healthy snacks I can think of at the moment.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>My favorite SIL, also one of my best friends, and I are  both lacking in intrinsic motivation for weight loss so we&#8217;ve decided to give ourselves some outside motivation.  We have decided to challenge each other to a weight loss duel,  if you will. We are both thinking of either a reward for the competition that won&#8217;t cost money, embarrassment perhaps, money no. We&#8217;re up for suggestions.  The best prize I can think of, or rather punishment, is for one person to have to sing rather than talk for a day at our upcoming family reunion. I would hate this! I seem to have an overwhelming need to explain or apologize for myself in a myriad of situations (daily).  Singing a response to a question, especially one asked by an in-law I hardly know would be almost mortifying to me.</p>
<p>Anyhow this is the best motivation I&#8217;ve had for a while. I weighed myself yesterday in the morning, (day 2 of my period) and I was up to 167.8. I&#8217;m still jogging a few times a week. However I&#8217;ve been eating to maintain, not really to loose. So here goes&#8230;</p>

<p>I  have switched from Weight Watchers to Sparkspeople. I&#8217;m very happy with my decision. I am a weight watcher member and will begin weighing in there after I hit goal. I really like going to meetings and being inspired by other members, however, Sparkspeople has what I need to get me to goal and it&#8217;s free. I love all the support available on Sparkspeople; I find it motivating and easy to use.</p>
<p>As for new tools, I&#8217;ve invested in a couple that are wonderful! 1)<em> </em>Jillian<em> </em>Michael&#8217;s &#8220;Shred&#8221;  DVD, 2) &#8221; 100 Days of Weight Loss&#8221; by Linda Spangle, and 3) Jillian Michael&#8217;s podcast (which is free). All three have been very helpful. What I love about &#8220;Shred&#8221; is that it is only 30 min. including a cool down. I&#8217;ve also been learning a ton about weight loss/nutrition on her podcast ( her KFI Sunday radio show). That being said, I didn&#8217;t do so well yesterday. I woke up and weighed myself, and was so happy with the result.  Then I think I spent the rest of the day eating, and eating, and eating. &#8220;Exercising?&#8221;you ask, &#8220;No, eating.&#8221;  I didn&#8217;t read my &#8220;100 Days of Weight Loss,&#8221; I didn&#8217;t listen to my BFF Jill (that&#8217;s Jillian Michaels to you), and I didn&#8217;t even do exercise.  My first and biggest mistake was not made yesterday, but the day before. That was to go to bed too late! I had no reason for going to bed so late, except to watch T.V. So I woke up, and had to drag myself around all day. So today is a new day. I didn&#8217;t like how I felt yesterday, so I will not be repeating that today. </p>
<p>Today I&#8217;ll be reading Day 6 of 100 Days of Weight Loss. It&#8217;s entitled, &#8220;Protect Your Program&#8221; I&#8217;ll report back tomorrow with what I figure out from it.</p>

<p>For a month I&#8217;ve managed to loose nothing. On the other hand, I&#8217;ve gained a lesson. I&#8217;ve learned that loosing weight is hard work! Duh! I know, but I think I tricked myself into thinking that somehow it wasn&#8217;t really that hard and that I had it down. So I&#8217;m going back to the basics again. Focusing on the Weight Watchers healthy guidelines and especially working out more. To be specific, I need to work out 5 times a week, instead of 2-3 times a week.</p>

<p>Today my 2 youngest are home with me while the 6 &amp; 8 year-old are off at school. I weigh in tomorrow at Weight Watchers so I&#8217;m going to watch what I eat today very carefully so as not to have &#8220;unprocessed food weight&#8221; (I know TMI) show on the scale. This week I discovered a new food that I can&#8217;t afford to have in the house&#8230;Trader Joe&#8217;s Whole Grain Chocolate Squares. Yummo, but 5 points a serving, &#8216;nuf said.  Here&#8217;s what my plan is for today:</p>
<p>Breakfast:</p>
<p>2 eggs scrambled w/garlic, spinach, and feta cheese</p>
<p>coffee w/cream and sugar (2pts)</p>
<p>Snack:</p>
<p>2 home-made gingerbread cookies</p>
<p>Lunch:</p>
<p>TJ&#8217;s 17 bean soup- Made from the recipe on the package  of Trader Joe&#8217;s dried beans</p>
<p>Grape smoothie- 1 Cup grapes, 1/2 Cup soy milk, 1 Cup ice blended</p>
<p>Dinner:</p>
<p>Large serving of ceasar salad w/canned chicken on top</p>
<p>Now I&#8217;m off to take in the recycling.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Ok I&#8217;ve been slacking. I think I&#8217;m a slacker. Yeah, I am, I clean only when I have to,  and if I can get by reading a book or making something pretty (ie. knitting, designing a card) I will. I think the same is true for me with weight loss. When consulting my google calandar for my last period (it feels about that time of the month) I discoved I&#8217;m 10 lbs off my goal. 10 lbs!!! I hoped to be weighing around 153 by now I&#8217;m not even 163. So it&#8217;s time to get my butt into gear. My goal is to weigh 163 by next week. Get the scale to say it anyway that I can, if I have to run 6 miles before I weigh myself to sweat out any water so be it! I&#8217;m going for it.</p>
<p>That being said, my goal for today is to stay under 25 points, and to eat all my fruit and veggies.  Oh and to run.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Today&#8217;s weight: 166.2</p>
<p>I don&#8217;t have much to report other than, I&#8217;m feeling so much better than when I started this journey. In some ways it feels as if it&#8217;s getting easier. Just knowing how to stock my fridge and pantry with better food choices makes it so much easier. The last couple of weeks we&#8217;ve had company and so I&#8217;ve been very busy.  It was nice that I didn&#8217;t stress too much about what I was going to eat, because I had my soy crisps and fruit to snack on while preparing meals as a result I didn&#8217;t go overboard out of a feeling of deprivation or because I wasn&#8217;t starving by the time it was ready to eat. It&#8217;s wonderful to feel in control again.</p>
<p>On Friday one of our guests and I went for a jog in the park. He owns a running store and runs about 30 miles a week. We ran for an hour and it felt wonderful to  be able to have a conversation while jogging. He also brought up a pair of trail shoes for me. I&#8217;m so excited! I&#8217;ve always wanted a pair. Anyhow, after our run, he came home and reported to my husband that I&#8217;m in really good shape. That for me was a wonderful affirmation.</p>

<p>I&#8217;m so happy that the scale finally dropped. I am trying new things almost everyday and focusing on meeting the good health guidelines. Another positive thing is that we&#8217;ve started going to church again as a family. I am so pleased, that was something that I&#8217;ve really been missing&#8230;food for the soul.  My mom said that she&#8217;s been praying for us to find a church. Thanks mom!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>This week I need to go to a meeting. I want to go to a meeting. I want to be in a meeting right now. The past couple of days I&#8217;ve been eating way over points. I baked brownies and pumpkin muffins. I&#8217;ve learned once again that I can&#8217;t handle baked good in the house while loosing weight. I thought I would just altogether not eat a brownie. A muffin, one muffin a vegetable kind of muffin I could handle right? Wrong! Absolutely wrong!!! This weekend I didn&#8217;t plan and I failed&#8230;you know the saying right?</p>
<p>I did however jog 5 miles on Saturday.  That was a good thing. So now to get back on track and find some motivation. Tonight we&#8217;ll have chicken, green beans, and salad.  For exercise I will jog, even if it&#8217;s 2 miles instead of 4, I&#8217;ll exercise 20 min.  Now I&#8217;m off to glean some inspiration from my blogroll.</p>
